I specialise in hand quilting as opposed to machine, as the stitching has a much softer effect; it is very beautiful and bears no resemblance to the rough tacking displayed in many of the cheap imported quilts that abound in the shops.

To complement the hours of work involved, all my quilts are constructed from 100% top quality cotton from the best designer ranges.
The wadding (the middle part of the quilt sandwich) can range from cotton, including organic, and wool to the more unusual such as bamboo, soy protein, corn fibre and even alpaca! The benefit of these natural fibres is that they allow warmth and breathability.
Many also have antibacterial properties and are environmentally friendly in their production. The quilts are made using traditional blocks and techniques, sometimes with a contemporary twist.
All the quilts are machine washable and do not require ironing. I am passionate about keeping this wonderful craft alive and my aim is to produce quilts of heirloom quality at an affordable price.
Fabric doesn’t just come by the yard or metre! Packs of ‘fat quarters’ and ‘jelly rolls’ are just two of the ways to get a delicious mix of patterns.
Each quilt is individually designed. Here blocks are waiting to be made into a cot quilt. Overall Andy is another 1930s classic motif.
The quilt top, wadding and backing are now being joined together with beautiful hand quilting. Masking tape is wonderful for keeping a straight line.
More gorgeous fabric just arrived and waiting for the right design. The floral pack of 10” squares is a non-fattening ‘layer cake’.
